Default Grannof6 and her gingerbread party

Here are some pics of my 6 grandchildren and one "fake" grandchild, spending the night and all day today having our annual Gingerbread party. The kids range in age from 20 down to 7. I have been doing this for 18 years and have received requests to see the "maylay" in the quilting studio ( my basement). The first pic is of them having breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. The rest are the progression of the decorating of the houses.

What great memories you have made with your Grands (and the fake one!) by making this an annual event.

Years ago a couple of girlfriends and I did it with their kids for a few years .... whole villages would get made! Each year they got more elaborate with everyone watching for great add-ons of cookies, pretzels, candies, cereal, etc that'd be just "perfect"!!! I didn't have kids ... but I sure had fun with them and have the memories too!!

Hey, Grann, just found you. Looks like a party to me! Which one of the girls is not a natural granddaughter?

So the party is done and I AM EXHAUSTED!!!!! BTW, the "Fake DGD" is the one with the long ponytail and dressed in a black sweater. She is like family. This is her 3rd year here with us. Here are pics of the finished products. The one without a roof and a furnished interior is my 13 yo quilter. She also had to upset her brother by adding things to his after he left the room. Needless to say he wasn't happy. The all white one with the icing smeared allover was Fake DGDs, she put all the candy inside.
