This is my Mom in the early 1040"s, I was born in 1947. She was the best mom in the world, always humming a tune as she worked, even though she worked very hard. She made many quilts with lots of applique' (her favorite), which I have most of (my older rother and her grandchildren all have at least one quilt). She raised 3 kids by herself; she was divorced when we were very small. Our dad was not part of our life growing up, but she raised 3 happy, healthy kids who all have her creative talents. She went to be with her Lord 3 1/2 years ago and I miss her every day.

This is a picture of my mom, she passed away June 10, 2006 at the age of 94. I still miss her! She was the mother of 9, worked our small farm with my dad, and still found time to do for others! Being the middle child, we bonded the most, as she was the middle child amongst her siblings. God, if you could put your arm around her on Mother's Day, and tell her how much I love her and miss her!
Happy Mother's Day mom, RIP!

This is a picture of my Mom when she and Dad were "courting". She began teaching me to sew when I was age 7. Sewing has been a lifelong love for me. Mom moved in with my DH and me after Dad died. She & I spent many happy hours making quilts, all hand pieced and hand quilted. She made several Double Wedding Ring quilts, all hand pieced. We lost her 9 years ago at age 92. Buried her on Mother's day.

I had to go back and take a picture of a picture of my Mother....She was taken back Home in 1952 so I have no pictures of her in my computer. I took this picture of her that stands on my mantle...so if there is a reflection of the camera on the pic, you will know why !!!!!

She was a beautiful lady and I think of her still every day.

My mom inspired me to quilt. I remember her taking old wool clothing to the next town where they would recycle it into batting . I recieved a quilt from her with some of this batting for a bridal shower 40 yrs ago and I am still using it. she never went out and bought material to quilt. Always reusing. I miss her dearly.
