hum bug bags are the squared off sipper bags.
the kind men use as shave bags, usually black leather,
a small handle and the sides go down

I LOVE the TP jumpseat! That's such a cute idea! AND, it would be easy to mail if you have to! ! ! I have several pilots in my family.........jumpseats are what they sometimes have to ride in when commuting (it can mean sitting in the extra seat in the cabin OR just sitting in an extra seat in the airplane).

One of the handiest gifts I have received from a sewing friend was an ironing dowel. She took about a 12" half dowel, glued batting around it and made little muslin bags, slid them over the dowel and closed up the ends. I use it every time I iron seams open. Simple and useful. You could even use a printed fabric.

Lynnie you are an inspiration starting for next year already. I need to take a page out of your "organized" book!

I, too, would like to see a pic of that dowel ironing thingy.

What about a thread catcher to hang off their sewing area? Perfect use for scraps. Let us know what you decide!

was on you tube, because my son won't take money for Christmas, so i made him pants and a shirt in origami.
while i was there, i saw some great Christmas cards for next year. I'll be starting them in January. Make a dozen and get them done. For my male 2nd cousin, he's getting a handmade washcloth,(My son loves them), and a homemade bar of soap. He'll be done early.

I want to either make or buy some of the special homemade soap for next year. I love it.
One time when looking around on the net I thought I had seen a recipe to make homemade soap with a cold method. I just wonder how that would be?

Here is a free pattern for the Humbug bag before it was called the Humbug bag.

There really hasn't been a new pattern for anything, just renamed every decade or so. LOL

new idea for next year.
plaid flannel with the words 'Jingle Bells" in black.
then i just got 750 jingle bells from the dollar store, 50 to a pack.
use the bells as trim. done!
what do you all think of that? I want the plaid to be red/green/black.
opinions please!
