Hexagon - Honu Tattoo

Hi Yolanda! Always love it when I find someone else with my name. Just be careful that the tatoo you choose, is the size you want. My daughter had an airplane tatooed on her back (at waistline) because a dear friend of hers was killed in a small plane crash. It is about 3 inches in diameter. She was looking for something much smaller. Just be sure you have your ducks in a row before you get something so permanent. Good luck and I love, love, love your name. Yolanda Carlson from Wisconsin
By the way, I am 72 and when I was born in the late 30s my father thought one of the king of Italy's daughters was beautiful. Her name was Yolanda. Therefore, he named me Yolanda. I love that he did that. YC

I would love to have a tattoo but I just can't justify the cost. My daughter and son-in-law offered to get me one for Christmas, but they really can't afford it either so I said no. Maybe next year things will be better financially, then we'll see.

My 60-yr-old DH just got a tattoo to celebrate finishing the Ironman Competition. His friends also got one, as did their wives (only their's says "Ironmate"). If you want it, go for it -- as for placement, just think towards the future of occasions where you might regret visibility. Will it go with your mother-of-the-bride dress at your daughter's wedding? I keep threatening to get a gecko tattood in cleavage (tail sticking out at top). Daughter, due to marry in April, is totally on edge about it wondering if I really would. Payback is wonderful.

I remember when my son wanted one and I only wanted to talk him out of it as I thought it was a phase he was going through. I told him if he still wanted one at the end of 6 months I would pay for it. What was I thinking???Needless to say I forked over the money in 6 months (it was Christmas by then) and did I mention I told him he could use the money for anything. He chose to spend it on Christmas gifts. Never did get a tatoo.

Not that it may be related to any of you folks, but my kids who are guards in a prison and a jail say the most violent of the prisoners are the heavily tattooed ones.
Just a comment on this subject. Me, I'd always thought of getting a Playboy bunny on my left boob, but the doctor took that one off just to make sure it did not go cancerous like the tiny bit he took out earlier.
And you're right, a greatly elongated rabbit wouldn't look quite right now...

Hehehe....I LOVE that one. Make her even more nervous with a carefully applied big of ink that barely shows and is hurriedly covered up!! Just give her a glimpse of it and then claim you do not have a tattoo anywhere on your body. He he he...

I love tattoos. I think they are artwork to be shown. My first one is a tribal sign on my leg...I was 18 and my mom said "make sure it's small, you'll have it forever". It's on the side of my calf and about a foot long :). I still love it and I'm 31 now.
Then I got a purple sun around my belly button(that one hurt). Then I got my daughters name in Chinese on my arm, and my second daughters name with a flower on the back of my neck. I still need to get one for my son but can't decide on how I want it done.
My only request is, make sure you get it done with a clean tattoo artist. The one I go to is super clean!!! He even bleaches the whole room down in between customers. He's a little bit more expensive, but it's well worth it.
