I grow mine at the grocery store...or at the farmer's market...we used to grow them many years ago, but decided it was too much work for what we got...and since have bought them instead. I am getting more and more that way with vegetables...especially since it is just me now.

We have been growing more and more..this year we have 14 tomatoe plants and many other veggies. Last year we started canning it was so easy so we are doubling the canning this year..so many of the veggie at the store are picked to early and have no taste. Nothing better than fresh veggies from the garden. this is the first time we have grown potatoes and so far only have one...but its because I was doing it wrong.

We grow about 100 acres of seed potatoes every year and have 21 different varieties. All potatoes need to be banked or hilled as we call it to prevent growing tubers (small potatoes) growing too near the surface and getting sunburned (potatoes are bright green). Green potatoes are poisonous and should be discarded. Regular potatoes should be stored in a cool (not freezing) dark place. Freshly dug new potatoes have a short lifespan (too immature to store) and should be eaten as soon as possible after digging.

I have been finding out more info on this...make sure to clean out and bleach your trash can and drill holes in the bottom. add soil and your potatoe ends with the eyes up. Add more soil as the plants continue to grow Harvest the potatoes at the end of the growing season by simply dumping the container onto a tarp and picking out the potatoes.
