The heat isn't the only problem we have! Our area is on water rationing!! We have 3 lakes that we get our water from. One is dry; one will be dry in Jan 2012. & the "new" one will be dry Jan 2013 if we don't get a "significant" amount of rain soon!! Please do pray for us!

How do you know, your not even here. LOL. Yes it is hot. If you get out of the pool, you make sure your flipflops are right there. It did rain for about 45 minutes yesterday. Let my 11 horses out in the front & back yard & they were trying to play in the water sprinkler. It was so funny. One of them just stayed in front of it & let the water spray all over him. I would rather have hot than 36 inches of snow like friend in North Dakota had this past winter.

Send a little heat this way, please. Haven't even been able to cut hay. Has been doing the rain one day, sun the next, rain the next and on and on.

So hot and so dry in Abilene, TX. My friend who's lived here since the 60's can't remember a worse summer.

We got maybe 200 drops of rain yesterday (not enough to wet anything) and that was the first "rain" since the softball size hail storm on Easter. (not much rain with that storm either)

Rain before that was sometime in February.

Not a day under 100 since May 26.

We were all set to smoke a brisket yesterday - - invited people over, bought all the food etc. and cancelled it on Thursday. It's just too darned hot.
