Default How to make stencils?

I have the 500 stencil book and clear plastic and tracing paper. What do you use and how do you cut the design out? Thank you !

not sure how to make stencils with plastic (I'm a failure there!) but I think Feline Fanatic showed how to transfer a print pattern onto a quilt for quilting.

You can buy a special stylus in hobby stores to cut through the plastic. It works very well and makes clean cuts for you to use on your fabrics. I use a lot of stencils in my quilting because I have zero drawing ability!

I find drawings online and trace them from the computer. Then I cut them out from sturdy plastic.

I trace the pattern and then cut them out. I use plastic sheets for them.

I use a stencil cutter made by WL Lenk. It has a very fine point and you just cut on the lines. Works great. I use regular clear stencil material from Joann's. If you have an accuquilt cutter, you can cut out the shapes also and that really goes fast.
