Fibro-fog is one of the reasons that I had to stop working...I couldn't teach, cuz I couldn't think....
What a pain...I don't drive that much anymore...I have gotten lost more times in the last couple years than ever before...

I been really silly today, I had to take my son to a school interview and while I was out we went to McDonalds for lunch and I popped into a local hardware shop. Now I am sitting here at half past midnight groaning in agony at the pain in my legs and back. I should have known better and stayed in the car once I was in it. We could have had a drive through after all. Still TOM did get offered a place to study for A levels which is great news.

In England, young people stay at school to 16 minimum and take GCSE exams which are the basic level school leaving exams, then if they want to they can go onto 6th form college and study 'A' levels (A=Advanced), these are the entry key to University or better jobs. Tom has had emotional problems in recent years so missed his slot at 6th form, he will be 18 when he starts, while most of his school group will be moving onto University at 18. I give thanks for all steps forward. Thanks for your best wishes, I hope your back is better soon, so gentle hugs to you.

At least now I don't have to push my self to do things on those fibro-fog days. I don't even like to drive during those times because I know my thinking and
judgement is not as good.

I have fibromyalgia and both types of lupus. I have been dealing with lupus for about 20 years, and fibro for I don;t know how long. Just no one knew what it was.
I went to a rheumatolosit for years, and it never got better, then I found a pain specialist who specializes fibro pain. the result of seeing him has been a better quality of life me me.
The weather changes definitely affect me. When the barometer swings, I am usually on the couch for the day. I recently stopped eating sugar and white flour, and I am noticing a difference. I also take good vitamins, especially vitamin D which we tend to be deficient in. it definitely helps with energy issues.
Stress is my worst enemy. Even if I take all of my medicines and control my diet, lack of proper rest, and too much stress, absolutely riun the quality of my life. This year, I missed every single one of my daughter's ballet classes, and I missed it when my son earned his black belt after watching him work on it for so many years. I became so sick that this forced me to lose my job after 22 years of teaching. I am now home full-time, and I am having a a huge improvement in my health. if you are having a lot of flares, just try to rest as much as you can, do gentle stretching exercises when you can (i.e. yoga), and lower as much stress as you can. Even though it is going to be VERY rough to go without my normal income, I can;t buy back all of the special times I have missed with my kids, and I look forward to being a good mommy again!
