I really enjoy it when my DH goes on a fishing trip!!! Even painting a room is more like fun when you aren't constantly being interrupted with mundane things like cooking! ...Have fun!

I can only wish my DH had a hobby that took him out for a while. He is a heart problem and kidney failure nad diabetes so he doesn't go far without me. I would love a day or night alone. My middle DD used to get him and go to the casino for the day and I enjoyed the quiet. I think everyone needs time out once in a while. So AUg 19-22, I am going to Mt.Calm Compass Centre for my quilt retreat, no phones, no meals to cook, no laundry. They fix us three meals a day and leave us coffee, drinks etc. for snacks. Not to mention what we ladies take. I can't wait. There's more than one way to skin a rabbit. ROFL.

My husband travels a lot with his job. (Out digging dinosaurs all summer). So I always manage to repaint, rearrange furniture, etc. while he is gone. He never knows where his recliner is going to be sitting when he gets home!

it looks great along with the new curtains. tuesday several of the siblings are going to be there to "help" with the project. i am lucky enough to help our "niece" from germany who is here for a month to do a quilt project to take back with her. maybe a tube quilt that would be fast.

My husband works all hours of the day and wants to have the bedroom like a motel room so he can sleep in a very dark room. We just bought new drapes and the color of the room was not quite right for the drapes. The walls are now a dark chocolate color. I love to paint and love to have something done that is a surprise for him.
This is the first year he was able to go fishing with his dad. His mother used to plan the week of fun things to do when my father-in-law was gone. She died 2 years ago and I told my husb that I am so sad I won't get to PLAY with her when he is gone. So I wanted to do something big in memory of her and her anticipation of my father-in-laws famous fishing trips.
As dkbeck said, our German neice is here and she is going to come to my house tomorrow and quilt. I am going to be painting my entryway because it no longer matches the other rooms in the house.
Check out this post about our German neice:

Hope you have as great of a day as I anticipate having- doing my work and then hopefully taking my 3 year old nephew to the farm to see peacocks, horses, mules, exotic birds, hundreds of cats, kitttens with 6 paws, and the nicest friends a person could ever have.
Maybe I have to go gambling one day, that is what my mother -in-law would have done!  :-D :?:

My husband used to be an over the road truck driver. I LOVED IT!!! We used to have a very dark living room. You could have 3 100watt bulbs going and it would still suck up everybit of the light. I told him I was going to paint it. He got all bent out of shape, we argued and finally he said, "I said not to paint it. I don't want it painted, promise me you won't paint it." I reluctantly agreed. He left to go trucking. That weekend when he got home the living room had the most beautiful light beige wallpaper.

This is just my personal opinion but I think togetherness is highly overrated. LOL I guess I'm just way too independent.
