Crocheting is easy and I taught myself 50 years ago from a Woman's day or magazine of some type. Love that pattern but not sure what I would do with something that big, was going to order and saw size and just too big. May get it and make it smaller. Wish I was close enough to teach you how to crochet, but many great places on line with videos to show you. If you can quilt and sew, you can crochet. You go girl, it is really adorable.

I, too, taught myself from a book. It takes a while to learn not to hold the tension too tight and to keep your hands relaxed, but the basic stitches are quite simple, and most of the more complicated things are just combinations of the simple ones.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I taught myself from a book marked "Easy Crochet" about forty years ago. It was sooo easy. Then when our daughter was a teen, she wanted to learn. I thought it would be difficult because I am right handed and she is left handed. It turned out to be easy also. She sat facing me and did whatever I did.

Crocheting is more relaxing then hand sewing or hand quilting to me. I use to crochet when my kids were young. I made scarves, mittens, slippers, stuffed animals, afghans, and easy sweaters. I needed a hobby and knew crocheting was very inexpensive for me as young mom. I could buy yarn then at the grocery store. Even now I keep an afghan ongoing. The new patterns out now are fantastic.
