Thanks everyone! I don't think we could wait until an hour away -- it's a 18 hour drive, and we have NO family to visit that lives far away. I do want them to know where we are going because DD#1 will read the Kid's Guide on the way there so she can have some input on some of the stuff we do (DD#2 too, of course).

My neice surprised her 7 year old with a disney trip. She woke him up at 5 am, fought with him to get dressed, opened her door to to a waiting limo. she said nothing until they arrive at the airport and were about to board the plane. Boy was he happy.
I was a mom and son trip. it was a good thing , lotsof memories for the 2 of them. this will be the trip of their lives. have loads of fun. :-D
