    Linda - Dear heart,

Even tho I do not know you -I understand and sympathize.

A good choice that may be very good for you is....L'Oreal 9RB.
8RB may also work. I am a natural strawberry blonde and these colors are great matches. Instead of gray my hair comes in a darker brown. I color about every 3/4 months. People don't believe that I color my hair. It really is natural looking. And then I tell them that I am 70 so they know that I am really dyeing my hair and they have guessed my age at 55.
RB means reddish blonde and your stories are funny.

I probably should have made this a PM but here goes.
    Quilter68 who is now 70

Love your story! I too had tried that brand. Used it a few times, but now there is a red stain in the carpet the looks like someone got hurt really bad. Just glad the police didn't need to come to the house for anything, they'd think something serious had happened here!

I still color my hair, have always done my own. Every time I think and attempt to go gray DH asks when I'm going to color my hair again, DD says I'm too young to go gray, and everyone else thinks I'm really tired since it makes me looked washed out and pale.

I use the Clairol Foam they have now. They don't have the dark auburn I like so I'm more brown than red, but it works.

Oh, how true......I have been a Clairol used for years (and years).

I go away for the winter and try to find someone who will go along with my trusted formula. I get the "this one is better" and "I wouldn't use that one".....so they do their thing and OMG......
I have, more than once, been something out of the cartoons.

Getting back to my faithful Clairol, I feel like myself again...but as the winter season approaches, I will again be at the hands of fate.

I've even asked tht if I bring my own into their shop, would they use it.......and then I get another sone & dance !!!!!!

I have been in your same shoes, and that is exactly why I leave this to the professionals, they have gone to school to learn this and they know exactly what to do. It would be the same if I decided to pull my own teeth(would sure not do that either)! Good luck!

I don't bother with coloring my hair anymore. I'm not young, my skin looks like a deflated balloon, and I'm not kidding anyone into thinking I'm younger than I am. So be it.
