I am definitely NOT a morning person. Don't speak to me before at least 10:00 am, sometimes noon. If I have to get up before 10:00, I have to take a nap around 4:00 pm; then I can stay up until around 3:00 am. All my friends and family KNOW not to call me before 10:00 AM.
I make all my appointments in the afternoon. Even my hairdresser asks if 11:00 am is too early for me? LOL And you should see the surprise on the medical receptionist's face when I stagger in after 9:00 am for "fasting" lab work! They always double check to see if I've eaten or drank anything and I say no...I just got out of bed! HeHe
If I've had a long day, say keeping the grandbabies, I'll lay down briefly but the longer I lay there, the wider awake I get. My mama told me that I was born at night and sleep all day and that's why I'm this way...and you know mamas never lie!! :)

My grands when they are here know that even if they see me walking and talking I am NOT awake til the fuzz in my head is gone. Usually an hour after I get up. I prefer to stay up til 3 and sleep til 10 or 11. WHen kids are here I have to get up earlier but I call it kid time and I get off kid time as soon as they go home. Most of my grands are now old enough I don't have to be up when they get up.It kills me to revert to kid time. I do so much better when I can stay up til 3 and sleep in. MY mom always calls me every day about noon and ask if I am up yet. I have one son who thinks it is hilarious to call me at 6 or 7am. He knows he is waking me up! He is an early riser and always has been since he was born. He is up at 3 or 4 am every day.
I am a night owl I love the hours from midnight to 3. I know the phone won't ring and my DH is finally asleep. My mom is asleep and won't be in and out of my door. It is truly me time when I know I am uninterrupted. I can concentrate and not have to stop to answer anyone.

I do like mornings either. One of the funniest examples of this came via my DGD. From the time she was an infant, she definitely was NOT a morning girl. My DD would get her up, dressed and fed to go to the babysitter... but then our little gal would disappear. We would find her in someone's bed, under blankets on the couch or with her blankie curled up somewhere. She is almost 13 and still is not a morning person at all.

I tried for years to be a morning person. Going to school and going to work, I really tried to be a morning person. Even after two children, it just isn't part of my body chemistry. I am just much happier when I an sleep-in in the morning.
