I live a few miles south of you Quilty and am so glad I am inside taking care of my 6 month old GD and not out in this. Take heart, it is supposed to warm up to 32 degrees on Sunday!

I agree with you, staying home would be good.

I spent Thanksgiving weekend in Blowing Rock, NC
with an early snow 19 degrees/60 mph winds.

It looked like snow ghost going down the street.

not sure where you live, but I fully agree - complaints of snow and ice, wild drivers, etc. in Alaska of all places - that's what A-l-a-s-k-a means - cold and snowy!

QUOTE=QuiltedCello;6438309]It's coming this way, yay. We just have really slick roads yet and a nice layer of ice. Blech.

I don't mind snow or cold (please, I lived in Finland for 8 years), it's the ice and the fact that people here totally forget how to drive on ice. This is potentially 6 months of the year people, why can't you remember?????[/QUOTE]

It is 55 degrees in the Chicago area today. That is unusually warm for us.

We had almost 80 degrees today, but it was a little windy. There are a couple of brutally hot months each year, but our winter usually only lasts a few days here and there. The weather guys are promising that your blast of wet and cold will blow in tomorrow afternoon, but we won't get below freezing until early next week. We had to wrap the sprinkler system above ground pipes and bring in the tropical plants from our patio this afternoon. So, short sleeves today and coats and sweaters late tomorrow. We'll probably be wearing shorts again by Christmas.

60+ degrees here in central VA thru the next 3 days, then sleet, rain, snow, wintery mix (schizophrenic weather man) expected on the weekend. I'm rushing to get the mailable gifts out before that hits so I can stay in and sew/read/eat/nap/read/nap eat/nap......well, you know.

Daughter in Colorado Springs called at the end of the day to ask for prayers for her DH who was just heading home from work in his car with no 4-wheel drive, on treacherous roads with hills and ice. She was in a big new Jeep and felt more confident. They both made it, but I made sure she called again to report in!

Have I mentioned how much I hate winter?! Be safe y'all!
