I'm in! As Tothill said, I have to lose 50-60 pounds and want to do it with some support that doesn't cost money such as Weight Watchers. We all know how to eat healthy and with a little will power and support, it will happen. Thank you for organizing this group.

Is anyone watching the Today Show this morning? They showed a new diet book (The 8-Hour Diet) where you only eat 8 hours of the day, say 10-6 or 11-7. You can pretty much eat as much of whatever you want but you are supposed to include the super 8 power foods. They say you can see big improvements just doing this 3 times a week. The 16 hours of fasting are supposed to shrink your stomach. Also you are supposed to do some exercise right away in the morning to get your metabolism going. Sounds interesting but I'm afraid I would get migraines from going that long without eating.
I had a big scare yesterday with my son having a low sugar episode. Luckily his girlfriend was with him. I think we might have lost him if not for her. She was sending me messages via facebook asking what to do and I didn't see them until a few hours later. Poor girl. I will be sending her a package with all kinds of things to have on hand. Hopefully I can figure out how to get a glucagon kit. She learned she needs to keep orange juice and other sugary things on hand at all times.
I'm off to spend some quality time with my treadmill.

Read through the postings since the first post on this thread, the colors for Feb and March are listed in one of my postings.

I weighed myself and I have 4.5 Christmas pounds plus the two I always want to lose, so my goal for January should be 6.5 pounds. I'll settle for three, so that's what I'm putting on January 31th in a big orange number. I encourage you all to set a realistic goal and post where you can see it regularly. No one will know what it is unlike posting your weight.

Remember weight control starts in the grocery store and any other place food is sold. If you don't bring IT home, then it won't be there when the munchies hit, but the healthy snack you purchased will be. What's your favorite healthy snack? I just bought some cashew butter so I wonder how it will taste on celery. Cashew butter a healthy snack??? Some fat in your snack is more satisfying than fat free. It's the portion control where some of us lose it - me, number 1 in that category.

Welcome back, Lisa, and welcome to all newcomers and other returnees.

I am losing weight and getting healthier.

What the heck may as well give it a try. Sign me up, I need to lose about 80 lbs, but a couple a month would be good for me. Now I have to dig out that yoga dvd and actually get into doing it. I am guessing that it is one fat quarter a month to participate. Looking forward to getting the pm with info.
