my husband is an architect (retired) and he thought it was pretty funny. but it comes from my brother in law who was a telephone guy.

DH just informed me that in Greece, they actually used these to mark where the brothels were. He has heard stories from when his dad was in the Navy. He was in Pompeii The story is that they used stones in this shape...u can figure it out..and whatever way the thingie was pointed...that was the direction of the brothel. When they had tour groups, women were not shown the stones. Only men were privileged enough for that. They would seperate the women out at that part of the tour and then rejoin the men after the men had viewed the "totem". I think it's funny!

I would never have thought about them using these shadows as signs or advertisement...business must slow down on cloudy days :lol: :lol: :lol:
