Welcome home to Kansas. Sounds like you will have a great home to play with and set up. Again, Welcome!

Congrats! Sounds like big changes for you, but nice ones too. We are moving as well to be closer to family, and closed on our new house today. Now the fun begins, but a new sewing studio is coming for me too! Isn't retirement great!

Congratulations from another former civil service retiree! You sure made changes in your life, very brave to uproot and move back home. Hubby and I adore old homes so I designed the house we built to be like an old farm house. The outside doesn't quite make it but the inside has the old door and window trim, huge tall baseboards, long double sash windows and 8" pine floor boards. And we are bursting at the seams with antiques, everything antique except mattresses (thank heavens), couch and appliances. You must post some pictures of the inside and outside! Warm wishes on a happy retired life.

I would enjoy moving back to Leavenworth, where I grew up. I love four seasons and the many old houses in that area. I even have a few friends still living there or not too far away. It won't be happening, though, because DH wants to play golf year round. Anyway, Kansas would be too far from our kids.

I hope your move goes smoothly. Enjoy your new lifestyle!
