immediately they all started barking. One of them barks at her own shadow but Tucker was doing his business bark. There's only 2 ways into our backyard....the locked gate and the deck. So I went to see if a stray cat or something was in the backyard. Just the cable company truck out there on the road. Seems they are running another line and the guys had the audacity to stand in the road where Tuck could see them! he let them know real quick that he was on to them! Then the big ole baby came running to mama and circled me barking. Glad to know I'm protected from stray cable guys! :D Glad they couldn't see me though.....I was still in my gown!

Sounds like my 3 little ones. They protected me from all the wild life out here. However if one of those little bunnies was to turn and chase them, they would run right back to me! lol

Hehe, cable guys sound like my across the alley neighbors... the kids (who stole our patio chairs, and we can't exactly call the cops, since no one did in the first place) have a party in the garage... and when I take the dogs out, they just stand in the alley where our dogs bark and bark and they just don't care...

Our dog gavin isn't the barker, it's Tequila! She sits in the window all day and barks at anything, and I mean anything, that goes by the house. Like a speck of dust, or a leaf...

We have full view glass doors. When home, we keep the inside door open and the full view door locked. There is a runner on the hard wood floor in the entry way. If the door bell rings, my two 90 pounds each dogs, run to the door and slide on the runner putting them right next to the glass. That certainly makes a believer out of whoever rang the door bell. It's bad enough to hear their big, bad barks from inside but to see them up close makes one think about entering. To me, it's an asset.

oh Tucker stands on his back legs at our glass front door and almost looks me in the eye. He has that deep booming pyr bark too.. Not a dog you want to mess with even if he is a big white fluffy ball of fur. And yes it is an asset...people think twice when they see him.

We don't need a doorbell. We have a pet door from the garage into the kitchen. When someone comes to the house, three of my cats come crashing thru the pet door and run as a herd up the stairs! "Someone's here!"

    You're right. Gotta love 'em!

They really protect their people don't they. Our little mini thinks he is a big dog and barks and growls at anyone at the door.
