The sun is shining, the temp is not yet 70, the windows are open and the fans are off. The birds and crows are singing. No cars are passing by the house to bring people to work at the lab down the street. The air smells fresh and sweet and the cool light breeze is from the ocean over the hill. Dogs and husband are still asleep. This is a heavenly time of day. I am looking through today's QB as I look out on the sunshine and flower garden here in MAINE.

Oh how I love living in the country. It's awesome when I'm hanging laundry and the only sounds are the birds and the bark of a neighbor's dog. What a life! I'm sooo blessed!

Over here in WV, I know just what you mean. I haven't had the AC on for 3 days now, there has been enough breeze coming through that the only sounds here are the birds, my daughters cow and calf and the newest herd-mates, 11 sheep. They are quite noisy at times however. The horses are down the ridge now and they are pretty quiet all the time and the goats are so intimidated by the cow and the sheep that they have shut up pretty much. Ah, the peace. PS, how could I forget, the noise gets to quite a high level when the Guinies are startled, however. I have never heard such noise-makers.

Wish I were there - woke up to 75* and windows steamed over from a/c on and so humid outside - a yucky day in store for here! Lucky lady you are - I envy you!

I love to turn off the A/C and open the windows! Even though we have a filter system on the unit, I still think the house smells stale.

Funniest thing to me was last week my 4 year old GD was sitting in the bathroom doing her thing, window open, and she says "listen Grams. Hear that bird? It must be a blue jay or a hawk." Wow, you must have been talking to your Granpa!
