You sound like a really sensible person, Jan. I love quietness too, and sounds of nature. I love the days when the air conditioner isn't going, (or the forced air in winter). Too many times our mocking bird songs are interrupted by fire engine sirens and emergency vehicles. I think I am a country girl at heart. Love to hear crickets, frogs, and birds... Enjoy your day in nice surroundings. I think I would love being your friend. :)
oops, sorry for double post. misspelled in the first one.

You make me homesick!!! I love the peaceful quiet in the mornings on the front porch at the farm when the only sound is from a zillion birds. At night the quiet is so profound I can hear the irrigation wheel-lines a quarter of a mile away. Apartment living in a big city just can't compare!!! Thanks for reminding me of what I have back home!

Yes, Jan, I love the early morning hours as the earth awakens and sunshine comes across the land. But with the heat index way up there, I prefer inside please with the AC on. I see the sun come up, and I think, "Thank God for a new day coming up!!"
Retired and out of city life, things seem beautiful & peaceful on our property in the middle of nowhere that is somewhere on God's green earth. May the peace be with you, wherever you are.
