DH and I each make our own sides of the bed after we get up in the morning and have had our coffee and news unless and this is a big UNLESS. We have 2 cats (Thelma & Louise) and if they get to the bed before us the bed may never get made that day. They have actually tag teamed keeping the bed occupied for the whole day and unless we are "rude" and move them. Love my girls.

I am a fanatic about making our bed, usually as I get out of it! I know this comes from growing up when my dear mother did not make her bed most days.

I'm sure mother wanted us to make our beds each morning, and maybe we did most days, I don't remember.
But...as an adult my two 'it makes me happy so I do it' things are make our bed and tidy up the kitchen before work or play.
All those years, coming home from work, finding the kitchen ready and the bed inviting...sheer bliss.

Growing up, we had feather beds and they were in full view of anyone who came to our house. Had to make them smooth and used a broom handle to roll over the bed to make sure they were. Our Mother was so glad to have a home, It was always ready for viewing.LOL

Since my DH is still in it when I go to work it does not get made in the morning. If I catch it before he decides he needs an afternoon nap I will straighten it out then. I don't worry about it too much but it does get cleaned up before I get back in if I want my share of the covers

My dh likes modern furniture, so we have a low bed that is quite challenging for me to make up because of my knee and back problems. His mother was one who insisted on made-up beds before breakfast, so he makes the bed and doesn't complain about it.

Reminds me of a funny thing that I did last winter while in our motorhome in Texas. I routinely keep our bed made in the motorhome because it is a smaller area and keeping things straightened up and picked up really keeps it from feeling "closed in", so more of a habit there than at home even. One morning I went out for a walk before making my bed and ran into a woman I had recently met in the park who is also quilter. She had been asking about my quilting so I invited her in to look at the quilt on my bed, totally forgetting that the bed was not made and I had sorted our laundry which was also on the bedroom floor! How embarrassing. I kept trying to explain and my DH said later you know she will never believe that. Oh well, she was very complimentary about my quilt and I will probably never see her again, but it still was embarrassing.

Rarely make my bed in the morning because I'm in and out of it 2-3 times a day. Arthritis pain in my hips, low back, and pelvis, as well as many other areas, tires me quickly and it is only helped by a period of lying down, sometimes getting warm. I usually read during these times but often also fall asleep for a short while. I use a CPAP if I am prone, so I take off my clothes and crawl in for a bit of a rest!

Lol about this post! I must be a rebellious teenager at heart! Nope, I do not make my bed or tidy the sheets unless it's a day off from work or company coming over. Now don't get me started on hanging up clothes! Lol
i definetly need a housekeeper or teach my DH (who is retired and waiting for me to come home) to pick up after me. Oh wait a minute he does that.
