My Dad said,"One thing at a time, and that done well is a very good rule as many can tell.

I have so enjoyed seeing some of these great sayings...I decided I was brave enough to share some of my mom's..many I have already seen.

If I said something like "I wish I had Susie's new dress" (or anything anyone else had)..my Mom would say. "You should never be envious or wish for something someone else has without leaving them with something." Then she would say "If you wish for Susie's new dress, always wish Susie got a feather up her butt and then you both would be tickled."

My Dad hated to hear a woman whistle and he would say "A whisling women and a crowing hen always come to some bad end."

If you ask what time it was, she would say "it is forty-eleven" never got that one.

She always said "IF you slither around like a snake, you will get stepped on".

If we wanted to do something and she would not let us, we would say When will I be big enough or when can I go? She would say when "hell freezes over".

I saw so many of her sayings as I read through all these wonderful "isms". Some made me laugh outloud and some of my mom's isms just cannot be shared in public. :)
