I think the response to that NOW is:

Why buy a pig if all one wants is a little sausage?

There was a quilt on display at the NW Quilt Expo last Sept. that I stood in front of and laughed out loud. And I wasn't the only one! It was titled, "Mama Said" and was filled with all of these wonderful sayings. I'll post a picture here. The sayings are too small to show up in the picture, but they surround the larger blocks. All the favorite Momisms were there. It must have been a fun quilt to make.

One of my dad's best, and oh so true: "There's a difference between a woman and a lady."

Hi Guys,

One thing I always remember my mother telling me when I was young....

NEVER RUN AFTER A BUS OR A MAN.... THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER BEHIND!!!!!!

It's so true!

Hugs

If we said, "I wish ______ (whatever), my grandma used to always say "Wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one gets full fastest." My grandpa used to say, "If that man had a brain, he'd be a half wit" or "if brains were dynamite, he wouldn't have enough to blow his nose!"

When we told our dad about a grade or performance or whatever that wasn't A or perfect, he would always ask if we tried our best. If we said yes, he would say he was proud of us no matter what others thought. I have tried to always show that attitude with my own children.
