I would think he had past dealings with this guy. Walking faster doesn't get a pan in the head for no reason. I've been told there are neighborhood "circuits" of garages salers and sometimes resellers. They usually know each other by sight and vehicles. I had a friend that went garage saling every weekend and she said she saw many of the same faces. Bet they knew each other well!
