When I first got orchids, I could never get them to bloom a second time, but I just kept them hanging around giving them the advised care religiously. I'm talking about the big leaf ones. Suddenly after 7 YEARS one got the idea and bloomed again! (I only had 2 at that time.) Now I have 7 or 8 and most bloom twice a year! This winter they all have tall stems, but seem to have been stuck for weeks this time! I only water when the pot seems "light" to lift and fertilize the older ones about once a year. So many months of enjoyment when they bloom!
So far I've only had one die. Will post a pic of them all when they finally decide to wake up! Looks like the baby of the family is about to make herself known. Rooster is just all about putting out roots!
[QUOTE=Kitsie;7423423]One of the reasons I enjoy getting a bit of cash for Christmas! She is 33" tall and there she was in the grocery store all alone between other orchids. Thought I heard a whine...
