Way funny! Ok to laugh since nothing bad happened. Good thing you answered the phone, sometimes I don't when I don't when I am busy and don't want to get distracted. (Which can happen to me just going from one room to another.)

This happened to my husband a few years ago. My son-in-law came over and came into the house and said, "Do you know Dad is sitting up on the roof waiting for you to put the ladder back up?" He was laughing so hard. I went outside and saw him up there but wouldn't get the ladder until I got my camera. I was NOT passing that up!!!!!!!!!! He got down after I got some really good shots, LOL.
Aren't you sorry you didn't think of that? :)

My DH is NO longer allowed to climb. I came home from work one day and he was laying in a tangle with the ladder. It had slipped while he was climbing up to the roof. He had it set up on our BRICK patio. He didn't argue with me very much about NEVER climbing again.
So happy your DH is ok...that is just wild~everything fell into place that day!

That happened to my neighbor years ago. I was out in the yard and heard someone calling my name. Since there's quite a distance between houses and I couldn't see his roof, I almost went inside. Poor guy was on the roof when his ladder fell also. I had quite a time lifting the huge thing back up for him to get down.

Glad to hear there was a happy ending. Hope he wears a harness whilst he is on the roof? A friend's husband was dutifully cleaning the gutters and fell past the window...broke both legs and arms and was completely dependent for months.
