Mice are invading my sewing room basement again!!!

I have the electronic ones but still catch mice in the trap not a foot away from it. Country mice are smart little buggers! I refuse to use the poison as I found dead mice all over the house the year I did that and we had a rat die inside a cold air duct ug what a smell! and no way to get him out!

I am freaking here I NEVER had mice when I lived on Long Island and when I had the first one in Ohio I as ready to pack up and move.

They are kind of cute, though - when they are outside or in cages.
If necessary, just wash and dry the fabric if mice run around on it. It's no more of a disaster than if a baby peed on it.
If you have health issues, wear rubber gloves and a mask while handling it.

You can get a poison bat from the feed store - it's a turquoise bar. The mice/rats eat it & it mummifies them so if they die inside your wall or whereever it won't stink.

I store blankets and fabrics in wooden chests. -- have your DH build some out of plywood if he is handy
Also -- put poison bait outside your house -- lean a small board against the foundation so the rain and larger animals can't get at it and the mice can run in a nice darl "hallway"

yrs ago when i was a receptionist, a mouse died in the walls. talk about stink. no one would relieve me so i sat there all day. took over a month to go away. later the health guy at the office told me that was bad for me. yes it was. nauseating.
later on the bug guy who came to spray for ants told me there is something that smells like bubblegum they can use....
