Stores seem to have limited availability of major appliances. When we were looking for a dishwasher, a lot of models/brands were coming up as "unavailable." So now we can see what happens when so many of the products we buy are dependent on foreign imports.
My son and daughter in law were able to use this shortage to their advantage with their recent kitchen remodel. They had ordered specific appliances with the contractor, but he was not able to deliver according to contract. Contractor found them upgraded appliances without a price increase. Their fridge is to die for, and their stove was an upgrade also.

The electrician who came this morning to put in a new outlet told my husband that circuit breakers are scarce. Once the few they do have in the warehouse are gone no more coming in and no time line when. He said the company asked for voluntary lay offs but hasn't let anyone go yet. He has decided to go with severance offered and go to his dad's to help him keep his farm running. He said his plan B just became his plan A.

I have been out of the loop for a week. I was in the hospital. I know the last time I ordered groceries I got everything on my list. There we a couple empty places in the grocery store a couple weeks ago but since what ever was not on my list I didn'ttake notice to see what was missing.

Every store within an hour of us has been out of diced green chilies. It's crazy. I ordered some from target online and they didn't bother to pad the box so they were all dented. Some really bad and some not as bad. I ended up with 3 good cans out of the lot (8 plus 5 resent).

I saw a post on Facebook that a person could not find a car battery in stock in his town. Wow.

He disconnected the oven so I could at least use the stove top and said would be about 5 weeks for part to arrive. A week ago I called repair department to inquire on status of order and they called back saying that it is now pushed out to January. They are trying to find me the part but so far no luck. I have debated about getting a toaster oven but have decided it wasn't worth the cost so hubby gets no cookies, pies or anything else that needs baking. I thought about buying a new stove but since my other appliances are white I can't get that either.
Buy the toaster oven, 3 Dog Night. I use mine far more than I use the big oven. Small things like baked potatoes especially, or just 6 cookies at a time. The only thing I use the big oven for is turkeys or large batches of cookies.

I use my counter top oven more then the big one. There is difference in the countertop oven and the toaster oven The countertop will be like a real oven only much smaller. If you have the counter space it's worth it. Preheating is fast. I bake pies, cakes, casseroles, bread, most any thing really.

I use my toaster oven/air fryer more than I do my big oven, especially in the summer. I have the farberware from Walmart and it's well worth the price.

ETA: it's a toaster oven air fryer combo. I call it a toaster oven but I guess it's a countertop oven.

I got my windshield wipers from Safelite Auto Glass, when I had a rock peck repaired in my windshield. They told me it was time for new wipers, and they had plenty.

That's good you got a new pair.
Remember a supply will run out and have to be reordered . That's the problem
