more Mom sayings

These are some of what my Mom used to say:
You make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
You've made you bed, now lie in it.
Just because a book opens and closes doesn't make it a prayer book.
No one is better than me and I am better than no one else.
Close the door, you weren't raised in a barn.
And if there was someone she didn't like; I wouldn't give them air if they were in a jug.

1. Never try to teach a pig to sing, all you do is waste your time, and annoy the pig.
2. Engage brain before starting mouth.
3. This too shall pass.
4. Be careful what you pray for, you might get it.
5. Better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Grandma said "Be Good and You'll always be Happy."
Mom said "Never Empty Handed to the Kitchen Go"
I said "I don't chew my cabbage twice."
Son said "It is what it is". I say "THEN FIX IT!" I just threw that in because that is one saying I hate worse than anything.
