Why my mother kept everything secret from me, I'll never know.
------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe she wasn't keeping it a secret. In the fuss and bother of raising
children, it's way too easy to remember all the little things we have
stuck away that belonged to our ancestors. Maybe she just remembered
it while thinking of what she should clean out before moving/having company/
having an inspection/workers in, etc. There area a lot of reasons. Why not
simply ask her? That is, if you don't think she is sensitive about something
that happened to or by these same ancestors.

Oh my! I'm happy for you. Although I have a few things I want, two of my nieces went in Mother's house and took all her quilts that she, my aunts, and grandmothers made. They are not married and have no one to pass them down to. I think they have probably sold them.

P.S. I should have said that this occurred after her death and while no one was in the house to prevent such thievery. Mother died 5 years ago and we have not completely settled her estate, due to these nieces.
