After my Chocolat Lab Hershey passed I was devastated. One day about a month after I was dozing on the couch and I had a VERY vivid dream in which Hershey came to me and told me to go the Humane society today , that there was someone waiting for me. I went to the HS and I just KNEW that this little beagle was meant to be mine. Sam helped heal that hole in my heart, but there is always a special place for all my beloved "fur babies" that are waiting at the rainbow bridge

I didn't think I'd EVER be ready for another. It took a year... and then, I was still worried I wasn't ready. Getting Yeti has been the best thing I could have done.... turns out, I was ready to open my heart again.

I have Pyrenees. 2 females. Kitty is the old lady at 10 almost 11 yrs and Sunday at 7 years. Kitty is getting arthritic and her coat isn't as nice as Sundays but she is still hanging in there. She doesn't do much but dig holes and lay in them and bark at the buggers at nite. Sunday has a beautiful fuzzy coat. Our yard isn't as big as she would like but she barks the buggers away too. She is so pretty! Such sweet digs.

We had a Pyrenees which jumped our 5ft fence like a horse any time he wanted. We loved him. Best protector we ever had - but when he decided to leave the yard he was gone.

Dogs are precious.
I, too, know what you mean about being ready. In fact, I was just thinking about this earlier tonight. We had to have Yankee put down right around Halloween last year (we could no longer even begin to control his seizures & the meds had started to break his organs down). I thought I would die myself. But I knew I'd want another dog because I've always had a dog. We agreed that we would get an older dog this spring. Then, fate happened & we were blessed with Leo the 1st of December... Leo the 10 month old puppy. So, not only did we not wait till spring, we ended up with a RAMBUNCTIOUS puppy. But he has filled our house with laughter again & I think we were just destined to get him. I think Yankee said "Mom's sad & lonely. I'm gonna send her a new son to love"... LOL!

I know your new baby is going to bring much joy to your life!
