We had a neighborhood Peacock, named Henry, for many many years. No idea how old he was but pretty darned old. About a year ago, someone purposely hit Henry and left him dying in the ditch. He was gorgeous and we all loved him especially when he screamed "HELP, HELP" every spring.

Yours is breathtakingly beautiful.

Oh, I love peacocks! My dad bred and sold them when I was growing up. We had one who became a pet, named Oscar. Years later we bought a house in town about 8 miles away and moved. Oscar was the only peacock left and pretty much lived in the woods, so we let him be. Imagine our shock a few weeks later when Oscar showed up on the front porch of our new house 8 miles away! To this day, we have never figured out how he found us or got there, but he stayed with us in town until he died and our neighbors were fascinated that he never strayed away. I was visiting with an older lady who is a quilting friend recently and we were looking through her old, old quilt magazines. There was a beautiful applique peacock quilt pattern in one of them. I told her the story of Oscar and she gave me the magazine. I look forward to making an Oscar quilt one day.
