Decision has been made! This was harder than buying a house! Long story short...after days of comparison shopping at every appliance store and online reviews, we were exhausted. One more trip to Sears to look at what they had in ordinary top loaders, and by the time we left we were going to get a low end bosch front loader & dryer. Went to Lowe's to see their "best price" and while there we saw a Samsung steam dryer on clearance (it wasn't marked down last night) so the bosch set up was the cheapest for similar macines before the clearance price. We asked if the 20% sale and my 10% extra sale coupon would apply to the clearance price...it did!!! Need to change our minds from bosch to samsung. Washer $ 100.00 off plus another 30%, so good deal...what about risers $ 199.00 each, but by then, we know the clerks very well and she check out back and found a demo riser and a new one in the box and gave us $85.00 off each! Soooo for 1,413.00 I had a STEAM washer and steam dryer and risers. Delivery tomorrow....now I have to forget everything I knew about laundry and start over. I think I will need to drag a chair to the basement and sit with the owners manual and watch my laundy. I hope it's everthing I hope it to be! Wish me luck.
Thanks for all your input...my husband did NOT want a front loader, but I said all my quiltin' buddy's love theirs! And he thought it would be nice for me for my quilts. He told every salesman it was for my quilts.
Now, why do I need steam in the washer? Maybe I should drag the coffee maker to the basement with the chair!

I have a matching washer and dryer - Maytag - top loader and will use a top loader as long as they sell them. They fit into the space I have for them, couldn't use the most used door in the house with the top loaders - back door. No problem with moldy smell.

That sure was a lot of trouble to buy a washer and dryer!

That's funny! When I first got my washer and dryer, I pulled up a chair and watched it wash! I couldn't get over the small amount of water it used and how quiet it was!

I did the same thing- watched it wash. So cool! Enjoy your new w/d! Let us know how well they do.

P.S. Our dog likes to watch it too. Weird dog.
