My mom is Grammy to some and Nammy to others. In fact, lots of folks at our church call her Nammy. My BF's MIL is MeMaw to all the kids (including mine). I'm not a grandma yet. I can't wait! Eldest DD is getting married July 17! What will I be called? My nickname is NayNay because my little sister couldn't say Renee. All the kids call me that.

We are Chuck and Joanne (by choice) to our first DGD (our daughter's now 18 year old DD), so we asked our son's much younger sons to call us Chuck and Joanne. That just wouldn't do. I was the one they saw the most of - so they started calling me 'Joanne Grandma.' Then they started calling DH 'Joanne Chuck.' Love it.

My first grandaughter went thru a series of names as she learned to talk. I liked grammy but her mother called me grandma so that's how it stayed until my 4th grandaughter and when she was about 18 months old, she named me gaga (with a soft a) and it has stuck. Some of the older ones even call me gaga now. When she was about 4 years old, she looked at me one day and said "gaga, you really are grandmother aren't you?"
