My name is Deborah and my nickname is Deblo.

My husband's name is Phil and our nephew could not say Phil or he is called Uncle Seal and everyone has called him that for almost 30 years.

My dad's name is Bill and the grandkids all call him Cowpa, my mother always thought that was cute as long as she was NOT Cowma, LOL so she is G-Grammy.

Nicknames abound in our family!! My name is Edie so I grew up with every imaginable nick name; Eddie, Ed, Edward, Eds, Earl, my dad called me Pretty or Pretty Girl. My dads name is Horace and he grew up being called Horsey, Muley and did a lot of fighting. I named my daughter Ronni Jo and I call her Jo Jo, Ron, Jo Jo Binkin. My son is Sam and his classmates dubbed him Sammy Whammy, which I still use, but Hub Bub is one I use mostly. My brothers growing up were referred to as "the boys". I'm from Oklahoma and I wouldn't live anywhere else, there's no place like home!

I grew up in Southern California, but my parents are from the south (Kentucky and Tennessee). My dad's nickname was Buddy from when he was a little boy. I couldn't pronounce my oldest sister's name when I was little, so I called her Shirt-tail (Shirley) and her other name was Beanpole (she was tall and skinny). Another sister was (meanly) called Tubby or Tub o' Lard, and my third sister, Mary Jane, was often called Mary, Mary, quite contrary, and for good reason. My nicknames were Patsy, Patty, and Pat, but my oldest sister always called me Trish or Trisha. My dad, however, called me either George or Fred, I guess because I was the fourth of four girls and was "supposed" to be a boy. LOL! Another reason for the motorcycle?

When I met my husband 42 years ago, he had sisters nicknamed "Sookie" for Sarah and "Beeps" for Pearle. I was called Cookie for Connie and our son is called Buzz because he's a III and it's confusing to have 3 men with same name. Double names are also big in the south: daughter Amy Ruth and granddaughter Michael Ann.

When I was born my dad took one look at me and said her head looks like a coconut; so, of course, I was "Coconut Head". My middle name is Ann and by the time I was a preschooler my dad was calling me "Raggedy Ann" after a favorite doll. By the time I was in high school and had sprained my ankle 7 or 8 times (which was eventually 13 sprains, two breaks and an ankle reconstruction)my dad would just shake his head over a new injury and say, "I should have named her Grace!"

My dad used to introduce his brother like this, "This is my brother, Bill. We call him "Washinging Machine Bill" 'cuz he's such an agitator.

Friend named George called Buddy by his family (he's a III or IV), Jaws by us.
Friend named Jack called Panda by all.
Friend named John called Eckie because he's tall and thin (an ectomorph in body types).
Mom named Florence either Flo or her preference Fiffi ( she always said she wanted to be a madame in a whore house and Fiffi was it).
Me, I'm Jo, used to be Chipmunk (for those fat cheeks).

My nickname's Bernie, A friend in school said that Bernice was too long a name to have to yell across the classroom, so she shortened it. I've been Bernie for 40 years now.

I'm trying to remember all these great nicknames! In our family the name plus "e poo" on the end prevails, like Therese-e-poo, etc.
