During WWII, my mom made umbrellas for us and others. She had gotten some parachute silk from somewhere and used it. I was a little alarmed to see bloodstains on some of the fabric, though.

Blanks are used and a special pattern to fit that frame was drafted by the teacher...Judy Gauthier...she has a shop on Etsy...our guild paid her to come down here and teach some classes....
