So cheery and fun! Doesn't it just make you smile to look at them now? I love to hear stories of free finds like this.

I never spray, well. very seldom. I used the DecoAmerica Decor, Outdoor Living paint. It is paint for outside and inside and you can paint on plastic too. I did a plastic chair also and that requires a week of cure time, I think. You can get it at Joann's. I turned the chair upside down and sat and painted the legs and those parts underneath. then I did the back and dowels and then the seat and around the seat etc. I let that bake in the sun and did a second coat after about an hour and then I let those cure overnight. I need to do the third coat after a light sanding. Maybe tomorrow. Then I will paint a design on the seat. I still have to paint the rungs a different color. I love the chairs.

Let me add that I used a big soft brush and the paint goes on like butter. It's just a matter of spreading the paint quickly and lightly smoothing.

These chairs are wood but you can also paint on plastic. I did a plastic chair also, will post later. It's Decoart Americana outdoor living paint, for outside and inside....

    Default The Plastic Chair

This is the plastic chair that I said I would post when I did it. I painted it just like my wooden chair with the DecoArt outdoor living decor Paint. I think you have to let it cure for three weeks. I forgot to take it in two days in a row and it rained on it and as you can see it is still fine. I will try to remember to take it in at night as I like to bake it in the sun.

I know 3 weeks is a long wait and I have 5 more of these but will wait and make sure it is working. I gave this one 2 coats but will wait to do the third coat.
