As with many of you, I do not make resolutions, however, I am going to a four day retreat in two weeks and I am only taking UFO"s. When I redid my sewing room, I cleverly (because I was fooling myself that this would make me organized) placed all my UFO's in plastic boxes, labeled and tried to place them neatly in a wooden wardrobe that I had designated as their new home. And of course, they would not all fit and as I tried different configurations, they seemed to multiply. So, I am going to work on getting my ufo's down to a size that I can atleast store and am not signing up for any classes that will evolved into more UFO's. That being said, I just remembered I am in a new BOM that begins Wednesday, so I better get crackin' on those UFO's.

I resolve to spend more time in my sewing room. I have been so lax since I moved to Oregon and have not completed a single thing. So, for 2016 I resolve to finish some of my UFO's and spend more time in my beautiful albeit messy sewing room.

My most important goal for the new year is not to buy any more fabric. Seriously, I will never use up all the fabric I own. I have big totes and a big dresser full of fabric and that doesn't include my scrap bins. Secondly since adding a twin bed to my sewing room for over night guests, I decided I didn't have enough room so now I am setting up a second sewing area down in my family room. If I ever get everything organized I may get an opportunity to actually do some sewing.
On a serious note my heart goes out to both the lady with the broken bones and the lady being forced to move on such short notice. Sometimes life is so hard but it will get better for both of you. Blessings!

I am off to a slow start but I am doing a serious cleaning of my sewing room and fabric. I have been kidding myself for to long about all my ufo's. I am bagging them up and giving them to people who like to quilt but on limited funds. Recently two quilt shops in my area closed ad I bought so much fabric so I am starting new. Out with the old.
To the girls with broken bones, take care and rest. I hope the girl moving found a nice new home.

I'm already working on mine. Five & a half years ago, I started a Mariner's quilt for our bed. Then, others quilt needs kept getting in the way so although the top was done, I couldn't get it finished. Then, we decided to use the oversized queen log cabin quilt top (my first ever) to back it with; making it reversible. The last quilt for others is being detailed now and the Mariner's is nearly all sandwiched. The log cabin side needs one more strip to be a long as the Mariner's. Can't hardly wait to start quilting it!!! Happy New year Leesa and I hope you get to yours soon!!
