Very nice gift for your DIL. Thanks for giving me a visual as I was just ready to ask if the top was a potholder.

I, too, have been using this combo for years and also find it hard to find nice thicker towels with matching potholders. Sometimes, I've had to make my own potholders in colors to match the towel and may personalize them using my embroidery machine. My daughters and daughters-in-law have been enjoying them and I have fewer than they do!!! Have made many for gifts, too. Can't imagine an oven door handle without one.

Pioneer Woman has some matching potholders and towels but I don't know about the thickness. I saw them on her website and Walmart sells her brand.

Thank you Tartan for the mini tutorial and photos. I think I'm going to whip up a few today for my friends birthday on Saturday.

Those look great! Thanks for sharing.

Tartan, Great job in potholder/kitchen towels! I had never seen them made like this, but I'm going to give this idea a try!
