Overfeeding....??

Your pictures are great. I just love watching our hummers, too. We have wild turkeys as well and they are amusing....... We didn't see any baby turkeys this summer and I don't know what that means????

Every April there is one hummer that comes and dances by my window (me thinks he is saying "FEED ME". So, I do. Then he and she have their babies and then we have four every year. This time of the year they feed like crazy (fun to watch) to ready themselves for their long long trip to warmer areas. So I stop their feeding at the end of August and wait again until April. They are so awesome, their little bodies and so much power. God surely does not make junk.

We have many beautiful birds that visit our feeders and that nest in the wooded area at the rear of our property and I love watching all of them. Hummingbirds are particularly fascinating to me. They are the smallest of the birds yet they are the boldest and have quite a loud "voice" in relation to their size. It's great fun to watch their antics when they all start dive-bombing each other and fighting in mid-air. And they just about knock the feeders down when they are empty just to remind us to fill them up again. I think God must have had a fun time when he was creating all of the wonders of our world!

thanks for the photos - my hummers must be getting ready for migration - they're in a feeding frenzy. i usually have one dominant male that comes first/leaves last that tries to chase all the others away - but when there are lots flying around he can't control them all. i have coons and opossums that get into my hummer water and seeds - hate 'em
