I just bought a house and it has been vacant for 3 years. Not only is the woodwork filthy but the colors chose by the previous owner are unbelieveable. I will start cleaning tomorrow and then paint - not white - but also NOT bright purple, bright blue or BLACK!

I dislike the trimming but I love the rolling. It always looks so fresh when done.

The week before Christmas, my son and DIL put down a new ceramic tile floor in my kitchen. I stripped the wallpaper off and painted the walls (actually I thought it was kinda fun - call me weired!). Last night I got through stripping the wallpaper off the 1/2 bath downstairs and I'm getting ready to paint it, too. Also laying new ceramic tile floor there. Unfortunately, DS and DIL have already gone home to Colorado. But I'm kinda hooked on this. Hang in there - keep painting - it might grow on you.

I am one of those nuts that like the whole process. Especially the finished product. Just like a quilt. But I do like color.

I don't paint walls as I end up with more paint on me than on the wall.

I love painting...not the prep work, but the actual painting. I painted my hallway last and I did it a warm yellow. I can't wait to get the rest of the house done. Only 3 more rooms!!! I painted my kitchen New Orleans Green. It's brighter but still a warm color and I LOVE it.
