A lot of the doors have a bracket for a solid piece that you can up in the day and down at night.

Default Pet Doors

I had a baby raccoon come in thru the cat door and try to drag a large bag of kitty food out but the bag broke. The next time I hear the flap I ran out to see who it was but it was the cat coming in but something told me to check out the window and sure enough there he was again getting ready to follow the cat inside for a 2nd try at the food bag.

To keep the critters out I got an electric door. The cat thought it funny and she loved to hear the door lock and unlock everytime she came near it. It had to be funny to those watching us trying to get her to go in and out the kitty door. One of us was stooped outside the door trying to get her to come out while the other one of us was inside trying to get her to come in. She just sat there looking at us funny like wondering what was going on with us humans. She was smarter than us for sure.

I laughed so hard reading this, I had to share it with my dh. You made my day, thank you.
