so true - I sat up all night with my lovely Hazel (a lab) when she was ready to go even then she did it the way she knew would please me and go quietly in her sleep

This brought me to tears. Just think of how true this all is. We have friends and things to do but our pets only have us. It's heartbreaking.

this really got to me...I have a 12 year old lab and a 14 year old cat and I know their years with me are winding down. It's going to be tough to give them up but I will be with them when their time comes.
