During a private "fly-in" fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness,

the chartered pilot and fishermen left a cooler and bait in the plane,

    a bear smelled it.

This is what the bear did to the plane.

The pilot used his radio and had another pilot bring him

Alaskans are very resourceful (spoken by a former Alaskan). I bet the pilot and fisherman are just glad they'd already vacated the plane before the bear arrived.

So versatile! Make a prom dress/tuxes to fixing your airplane. Here we thought McGuyver made it up.

Yeah, bears can be darn nasty! We had a bear attack our garbage can last summer....it wasn't a pretty site!!!! From now in, in the summer, I'm freezing leftovers that would normally go in the can until we haul to the dump. We had a neighbor have to shoot a bear that was trying to get in his house! Smart pilot that thought of the duct tape!!

I'm with you on this! I wouldn't jump out of a perfectly good airplane nor would I agree to fly in one that was duct taped together... just sayin'

I think if I'd been the fisherman I'd have flown back with the man that brought in the supplies.

WOW!!!! Bears will try to get into anything!!

My Dh call's Duct Tape "100 Mile an Hour Tape"
He's a pilot, and says it's good up to 100 miles an hour.
I once patched together an old rusted car we had, sprayed over the duct tape with white rustoleum paint and even sold the car for more than we paid for it after driving it for 5 mos. (this was in Okinawa when DH was there on a deployment back in 1986)

Thanks for sending this in. Reminded me of my dad who passed in 2008. He was a pilot and built a small plane with a fabric body. He would have had no problem fixing it or flying it out. He soloed at 14 and taught flying at 21 in the Army-Air force in WWII.
It really reminded me of he and my mother and the flying.
I always look forward to your little snippets.
