I can't help you with your problem, but I am wondering where you found that popcorn maker? I've never seen one like that, and my husband would love it.

Walmart has them and the pop trays. It makes great popcorn........when you have the right microwave.

    Marsye,

We have the exact same popper and have a newer microwave. DH said to tell you that it won't work if you use the popcorn setting on your microwave. What you have to do is set it for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes on full power. (He said something technical about the newer microwaves sensing the moisture and it doesn't work that way with the popper). ;-)
    Hope this works for you.

Hope it works for you. We love it popped that way, DH even found one at a yard sale, cleaned it up and they use it at his work!

I have one, too, and LOVE it! I don't use oil with it and the little paper bottom lasts forever. I, too, do it for 2 1/2-3 minutes rather than the popcorn setting. In fact, I had to go look - yip my micro has a popcorn setting!!! hmmm never looked before. My micro is a year old, so I suspect that's your problem, too.
