What you have there is Calystegia hederacea ‘Flore Pleno’

Common name Japanese False Bindweed - that's why it's coming up all over your yard! Prettier than the normal bindweed though. Here's a link - good photo but French site http://gardenbreizh.org/photos/Oli/photo-112968.html

If you google the full latin name you can find out more about it! I read that it likes moist soil in a sunny position and it can be invasive so best confined to a pot (!).

I looked that name up and YES it is it!!!!!!!!! Now I know what it is! And I also know now why it is every where! Like you said it is a weed! Wouldn't you know that I would wind up with a "weed" :oops: :oops: :oops: :twisted: :wink: :? :lol: :D

Ah Mary, but it's a really beautiful weed. Prettier than a lot of "proper" plants! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I took a trip to Chicago a while back, and one of the arboretums had a big sign telling about the various plants there. One of them was the wild onion. I almost fell down laughing. What they were so proudly touting is a weedy menace in the south! So, enjoy your "weed". I wouldn't mind having weeds that look like that!

I have had these growing on the lattice work for the 19 years that we have lived here and never knew what they were called. As far as I know, no one around has them!!! Never seen any!!
I do have the Clematis and one variety that blooms in the later summer called Sweet Autumn and it has the best smell! I will post a picture of it if I can find it!
I love flowers and roses too! :lol: :wink:
If I were in better shape to care for them I would have nothing but!!!
