Ah Mary, but it's a really beautiful weed. Prettier than a lot of "proper" plants! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I took a trip to Chicago a while back, and one of the arboretums had a big sign telling about the various plants there. One of them was the wild onion. I almost fell down laughing. What they were so proudly touting is a weedy menace in the south! So, enjoy your "weed". I wouldn't mind having weeds that look like that! I do think the pink flowers are pretty and they are on lattice on the fornt and sides of my porch. at least they come up every year! They do spread so I have to transplant them back to the porch! And if I knew how to send them I wold send you some!! |

Mary I think that's Clematis armandii? Smells sweet and the leaves are evergreen if it's not too cold a winter? One of my favourites!

OK - it DOES look like C. armandii - the leaves are glossier and thicker than regular clematis leaves? Maybe you have cold winters! Mine in the UK always lost it's leaves as well.

That could be k3n! Kentucky gets pretty cold sometimes! This year was one of them! And ICE too! Sorta glad that all I needed to get out for was PT! And at that time was only going twice a week! |
I was wondering when it was said it started coming up all over the yard. Not a good thing. It is beautiful, however. I have my own method for deciding if something is a flower or a weed. If you look at it crosswise and it falls over dead, it's a flower (quicker the death, the more expensive the plant). If you can't get it out with a backhoe, it's a weed. No matter how pretty.
