Sorry to here of your job loss,,,,,but on the other hand they do say when one door closes another opens......maybe a good theng....good luck my quilting friend!!.....:-)

Just a thought, but in England it is illegal for a Boss to do that and you could object to that through a solicitor or someone.

Sorry to hear this,Chris, but you will be able to enjoy(?) the nice weather, and get some sewing done.....

My son was downsized in Dec., and the also brought in people that were 1/2 of his salery.

So sorry to hear that you have been laid off from work. Keep your chin up & think positive - something may well turn up unexpectantly, you know how when your not looking sometimes that door of opportunity appears.

Keeping you in my thoughts. My job also looks very bleak. I am currently looking for alternative work too.

Exactly! And, I can tell by what you have said, GK, that you are in that mode ... looking for opportunities. My exact first thought was: Sometimes, we don't like a job, but we are committed to the friends we have made there. When it is time to move on, we hang on until the bitter end for "them" ... which is fine, but you are sounding as though it was sort of a mutual separation. Do what your hand finds to do, and you will find your place. I am sorry that the job ended in this way, but in five years, you are going to look back (I'm betting) and say the best thing that ever happened was my boss invited me to leave ...
This too is an opportunity .... the hardest thing I have ever had to teach the kids is: The only limit is your imagination ...

I've always wanted to learn upholstery. Good luck if that's where this takes you!

I'm glad you're okay financially. It's probably better this way anyway, maybe you'll find a job you enjoy, in the meantime you can be getting quilts done.
