Is it cold where you are and is the wind is still blowing? When I got up this AM it was -18F here in Northern Michigan? With wind chill I would guess at least -28.

Crqltr 02-15-2015 04:26 AM

-11 here in southern Michigan! Could be worse..we don't have 80" of snow!

willowwind 02-15-2015 04:47 AM

It is cold here these days. Yesterday it was minus 30 with a windchill of minus 40. Today it is a balmy minus 20. 'But it is a dry cold' :D

If it is bright and sunny, I can cope!

MarLeClair 02-15-2015 07:31 AM

This morning was .4 I guess which is 0. Had about a foot of snow yesterday. Way too much snow. I have a contractor coming tomorrow to shovel off the roof and remove the ice dam. Am getting water damage in The house. I would like to sit down and cry, just don't have time.

HOPE all of you are staying warm. It is going to be a toasty 83 degrees in Southern California. We did get Las Vegas' snow on December 31st. Never saw snow here before.

Abby'smom 02-15-2015 07:46 AM

:( I really feel for you with the extreme cold -- I would guess that you learn to adapt -- we are very south in comparison to you, se TX, and have had a mild winter so far but winter isn't over yet --our temps for the week will jump back and forth with highs in the 70s during the day and lows in the 30s/40s at night, weather for short sleeves and maybe a sweater during the day -- keep warm

Same thing happening over here on East coast. We have not seen these temperatures in 21 yrs. I'm trying to clear my driveway, but I can only take the wind/temp for about 15 min. at a time.

canmitch1971 02-15-2015 08:05 AM

It is -9 here in Ontario Canada.....brrrrrrrrr

maryb119 02-15-2015 09:14 AM

It's 0 degrees here in eastern Iowa. I'm not sure what the wind chill is. All I know is that it's darn cold and it's Sunday and I don't have to go anywhere. I plan to stay home where it is warm.

mountain-moma 02-15-2015 09:49 AM

It was 6 degrees here this am Plenty of snow well enough for us it is supposed to snow more tomorrow. I sure feel sorry for all the folks having to deal with all the snow they are getting

Tothill 02-15-2015 11:04 AM

Warm on the BC Coast. I had to do a conversion from 8 degrees Celsius is 48 degrees Fahrenheit We will be sunny around 55 all week.

It is actually too warm. All the ski hills have had to close due to lack of snow. There is no snow on the mountains, which means we will have water use restrictions next year. The rivers will be too low for the salmon to come upstream. Two years ago they had to truck the salmon up the river so they could spawn. Last year we finally got enough rain so they could swim upstream.

grannie cheechee 02-15-2015 12:31 PM

I guess I shouldn't complain, but its only 37 in the am. It did warm up to 54. I had 3 sweatshirts on because of the wind. My cousin is in IA., and she said she would send me a jacket soon. LOL Its the wind down here that goes through me, but I'll stay in and cut fabric.

jetayre 02-15-2015 12:44 PM

As all you cold weather people are saying it is cold and it is building up for tonight. We are supposed to equal -40 below tonight with the wind that is whirl-a-gigging light fluffy snow north, south, east and west. There IS o protective side of trees buildings or snow banks. they are saying that Tues is going to be worse because the temperatures are to be at least 40 below without the wind. Never seen such a long stretch of cold and it is continuing at least til next week. We have not had a January thaw yet either. Guess we can be grateful we do not have the snow in Boston.

Jan in VA 02-15-2015 01:14 PM

23 in central VA now at 4pm; was 12 overnight with scary wind. We will have same cold with snow - 4-6" - predicted for tomorrow. If I had money I'd SO be outta here to warm sunny weather! :D

MaryKatherine 02-15-2015 05:28 PM

Right now were sitting a -24 C going down to -36 C
Lets see..that's -11F going down to -15F. Wind chill of -29F. I guess it's cold. LOL

pocoellie 02-15-2015 06:11 PM

Mostly this "winter" has been anywhere from 10 to 25 degrees warmer than normal, with maybe an inch of moisture, combining the little dab of snow and rain, that we've gotten.

Leslie333 02-15-2015 06:16 PM

It's 2 degrees here in Central Ohio at 9 PM. I didn't leave the house today, which meant time for quilting! It's supposed to "warm up" and get all the way to 17 tomorrow. lol

Anniedeb 02-15-2015 08:56 PM

-7 yesterday, with a wind chill of -25, and 0 today, with about the same wind chill.....did I mention we moved my sister yesterday and today....all her stuff was in outside storage. Load the U-Haul...drive across town, only to find out the U-Haul didn't fit in the underground garage. Unload U-Haul in parking lot and carry inside...Stay home, stay warm, and move in the summer time!!!

patski 02-15-2015 09:02 PM

I am so sorry about the cold but if it is coming from the west we had 2 days of 30 mph winds. It was 77 here today. Come move to Tucson. Lots of quilters here and its warm

zennia 02-16-2015 06:33 AM

Cold here to. Almost all Sunday church services were cancelled in western n.y.

it is 14 degrees here in central Missouri. with wind chill it says like1 degree. typical weather for February here. We have between 3-4 inches of snow already and it is still falling. Our 5 month old pup is fascinated by the snow and it is fun watching his fascination with it. Husband and I are both retired so we enjoy not having to be out in it but enjoy watching the birds at the feeders and our lab.sz. puppy out in it .Take care and stay warm, jan

lildinks2013 02-16-2015 07:30 AM

Mid-south is 28 degrees with ice pellets and slick icy roads. Most of the snow stayed north in the boot hills of MO and into Ky and Ind. However, us mid southerners normally don't get a lot of winter precipitation, but do get the cold temps at times. It will be cold all week here in the Mid south. I even see some chicken owners put sweaters on their backyard chickens. lol I thought they were kidding but I actually seen a few pics of knitted and crocheted chicken sweaters. I dont plan on going out at all today with roads being so slick. Coming from wisc., we know how to drive in such conditions but its the homeys here that don't and those are the ones who one needs to watch out for. So today, Ill throw a few logs on the fire and work on tying a quilt and if I really get bored, I can always crochet some chicken sweaters. lol

Think we are blessed to just have the cold. Right now my house is 57° as the furnace will not kick on. Have two Labs in the house and they look kinda chilly. Furnace will not get attention until after 1pm.

It is about 6 degrees here in southern WV and we are expecting about 10-14+ inches of snow but I am not complaining because that is nothing compared to Boston. Prayers for them

orsdrramas 02-16-2015 09:02 AM

In Jan '98 we had snow supposedly turning to rain. My husband was working at the fire department that evening and said that was the most rain he ever shoveled (we actually received about 30 inches of snow).

MarionsQuilts 02-16-2015 10:39 AM

Yeah, it's been absolutely frigid in Ottawa, ON these last couple of days. Yesterday was -38 with the windchill, and I felt it all the way to my bones LOL ... that dang dog in my avatar however, had an absolute blast on our walk!!!!

oldtnquiltinglady 02-16-2015 11:03 AM

Too cold for me here in TN. DH is making noises about doing the "snow bird" thing after this winter--if we get through this one without freezing our hinies off. I have been cold (here in the house) since last week--long sleeves and undershirts in the house, no less. My feet feel permanently frozen.....but thankful I don't live in Boston. Prayers for those folks getting though it.

I left Toledo 3 yrs ago in March and there is no way I'd ever go back. I had better than a foot of ice -snow and slush on my car the day I left Toledo. So far this winter we've had maybe 10 inches altogether-including last nights 2 inches. And this will be the last of it. I no longer suffer cabin fever.

lildinks2013 02-16-2015 12:12 PM

I just finished crocheting my DH some slippers. He's a happy camper with warm feet. I used 3 strands of yarn and size N hook. Quick and easy pattern. Made some ham and bean soup in a crock pot last nite for dinner tonite and had also some warm crockpot oatmeal ready this morning. The rest of the day is for me and my quilts. I also hung a smaller quilt over a window on the northwest side of the house as it felt cold there. Made a big difference. Hope ya'll can stay warm these frigid days.

MargeD 02-16-2015 01:08 PM

Oh my, it's cold here in MA, but I remember the many -15 to -25 days when I was growing up in SD. I do not miss those days at all, but I miss my family members who are still there. It's a good day to stay in and quilt; especially here with all the snow we have had recently. I want spring.

CindyA 02-16-2015 01:24 PM

It was about 6 degrees when I woke up today. Brrrrr! Now, snow is coming down. We are expecting approximately 5-8".

CindyA 02-16-2015 01:25 PM

P.S. Now I'm going to go look up on Pinterest knitted chicken sweaters!! :D

fayeberry 02-16-2015 01:37 PM
