I enjoyed your story and will remember your sewing tip! You really changed the world today.
Thanks!

I did one like that for my son but I didn't cut off the old teeth. That worked very well and I didn't need to worry of the old tape would fray. It was done on a heavy jacket so the old teeth were quite un-noticeable when it was finished.

Clever idea and very nice thing to do for someone. We need to do a lot of this for one another!!!

Love it! And thank you for being kind. He will always remember that.

I admire OnebyOne's restraint in not saying to him: "Why not buy Yourself a sewing machine?" LOL!
I guess I'm too old school. LOL I would have loved my DH surprising me with a sewing machine back in the day.

What a cute story. I hope his wife appreciates the sewing machine. LOL

But will she use it to do mending. I'd rather make a new outfit than mend. My sister has tried to learn to sew twice and finally gave up. its just not her thing.

Mine did surprise me with a sewing machine -- a Singer Golden Touch 'n Sew which I still have and love -- but I already sewed and had been for years.

That is paying it forward. And planting a seed for a sewing future.

I am going to check that out! What a nice thing to do!
